A visit by a student delegation from the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU) to Brest State Technical University (BrSTU) has concluded. The visit—a significant milestone in fostering cooperation between universities of the Union State—spanned three action-packed days, from October 13 to October 15, 2026.
The itinerary, organized with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Pskov State University, and the "Studtourism.rf" digital platform, was designed to allow the guests not only to appreciate BrSTU’s engineering capabilities but also to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of the Brest region.
Day One: Engineering in Art and the Lights of the Old Town
The visit began on October 13. The first day was dedicated to experiencing the unique spirit of Brest. The program opened with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Brest Academic Drama Theatre. Afterward, the guests strolled through the historic city center, admiring the harmonious architecture dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The evening culminated in the spectacular ritual of lighting the vintage kerosene street lamps on Sovetskaya Street.
Day Two: The Breath of Nature
On October 14, the delegation set off to visit Belarus's premier natural landmark: the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park.
The guests explored the primeval forest, viewed centuries-old oaks and the famous residence of the Belarusian Ded Moroz (Father Frost), visited the Museum of Folk Life and Ancient Technologies, and sampled traditional Belarusian cuisine. The morning began with a tour of the "Brest Hero-Fortress" memorial complex. The students paid tribute to the citadel's defenders, whose resilience stands as a testament to an unyielding spirit.
After immersing themselves in history, the guests turned their attention to the industry's future. A tour of the BrSTU campus was organized for the delegation. The MGSU students visited classrooms, but the highlight of the program was the BrSTU Competence Center. The Russian guests saw the equipment used to train Belarusian students, including modern CNC machines, robotic systems, and laboratories dedicated to BIM modeling and construction materials.
The day culminated in an official meeting between the delegation and the BrSTU leadership. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the parties reviewed the visit's outcomes and discussed prospects for future academic exchanges and joint scientific programs. As a token of respect and a memento of their trip to Brest, the guests were presented with commemorative souvenirs from BrSTU.
