The traditional ceremony of initiation of first-year students into students of Brest State Technical University took place on the Ceremonial Square of the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex on September 2.
The event was accompanied by the orchestra of the 38th Brest Separate Guards Airborne Assault Vienna Red Banner Brigade. Its performance of military marches and patriotic songs created an atmosphere of pride and inspiration among the ceremony participants.
The event was attended by: member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, director of the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex Alexander Alexandrovich Korkotadze, deputy chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Viktor Anatolyevich Rafalovich, archpriest of the St. Nicholas Garrison Cathedral Father Vitaly Nikolaevich Khonovets, Rector of BrSTU Sergey Antonovich Kasperovich, the Rector's Office, and faculty leadership.
Before the ceremony, students, together with the honored guests, laid flowers and honored with a minute of silence the feat of the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of our Belarus.
Then followed the official part of the event, where first-year students took the first-year oath, and the deans of the faculties presented the students with the first document of their university life - a student card.
Viktor Anatolyevich conveyed greetings from the regional leadership and wished the young people a successful start to their studies. The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee called on students to be aware of their high responsibility to the country and the people, to develop professional qualities and strengthen friendship within the team.
Alexander Aleksandrovich congratulated the first-year students and expressed gratitude to their parents for raising talented children. He emphasized the importance of choosing a technical direction and noted the high level of training of today's students who overcame the difficulties of admission. The director reminded those gathered of the importance of patriotism education, holding this holiday in a place where the heroes of the past fought for the independence of the state.
Father Vitaly addressed the students with words of instruction and blessing.
