On the eve of the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, a touching meeting between participants in the Afghan war and students was held at Brest State Technical University. The dialogue platform was titled "Heroes of the Undeclared War."
Special guests at the meeting included veterans of the war: retired Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Vladimirovich Pukhalsky, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Organization of the Belarusian Union of Afghan War Veterans; retired Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Timofeevich Klyuchevskoy, a KGB counterintelligence officer; and Eduard Vasilyevich Prikhodko, a former serviceman who experienced the trials of Afghanistan. They spoke frankly to the students about their military pasts, emotionally recounting episodes of their service, and sharing their personal experiences and emotions.
These stories reminded the audience of the importance of maintaining peace and stability, as every page of history serves as a lesson for future generations. Concluding the meeting, the guests sincerely wished the youth never to experience the trials that the generation of Afghan soldiers had to endure, emphasizing the need to preserve peace and tranquility in our country.
