Dear colleagues, staff, and students of Brest State Technical University!
I sincerely congratulate you on September 1st - Knowledge Day - and the beginning of the new academic year!
Today, we extend a particularly warm welcome to our first-year students. You have made a conscious and important choice, choosing engineering, architecture, construction, information technology, and economics. Being an engineer today is more than just having a degree from a prestigious university. It means thinking systemically, creating things that change the world around us, building the cities of the future, and designing technologies that make people's lives safer and more comfortable. The future of our industry, economy, and the entire country rests in your hands. You have chosen the path of creators, and the university will do everything possible to help you become highly skilled professionals.
For those continuing their studies in their senior years, master's programs, or postgraduate programs, September 1st marks a new starting point on a long journey to the heights of science and professional excellence. The technological sovereignty of regional enterprises depends on your research, coursework, and diploma projects. As a reminder, my office is always open to discussing your boldest ideas and startup projects.
Dear students! The university provides you with unique resources, but your learning outcomes depend solely on your diligence. Take advantage of our laboratories, research schools, extensive library, and partnerships with leading companies in Belarus and abroad. Don't be afraid to ask difficult questions, debate, make mistakes, and try again. Participate in student scientific societies, construction teams, sports clubs, and creative teams. Your years at BrSTU should be a time not only for acquiring fundamental knowledge but also for learning life, friendship, and leadership.
However, a technical university is more than just classrooms, laboratories, and blueprints. It is, above all, about people. Our greatest asset is our close-knit team. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the professors, associate professors, teachers, and staff. Your work requires incredible dedication, patience, and constant self-improvement. Thank you for your dedication to your calling, for your ability to spark interest in students, and for the invaluable experience you share every day.
I would like to extend a special word to the parents. Thank you for the trust you have placed in our university by bringing your children here. Education is the most reliable investment, and we will do everything to ensure that it pays off with the success of your sons and daughters.
A challenging but incredibly exciting year lies ahead. May it be a time of discovery, victory, and personal growth for all of us. I wish the students an easy and engaging academic experience, a vibrant college life, and brilliant prospects. I wish the faculty talented students, new academic achievements, and boundless energy. I wish all of us peace, kindness, and prosperity in our families.
Happy Knowledge Day!
Sincerely,
Rector of Brest State Technical University
Andrey Nikolaevich Parfievich
