From August 25 to 28, the IX International Symposium on Tribo-Fatigue was held in Jinan, Shandong Province, China. Andrei Ivanovich Veremeychik, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Brest State Technical University, participated in the symposium as part of the official delegation from the Republic of Belarus.
As part of the main program of the symposium, Andrei Ivanovich presented a paper on "Large Deformations in Flat Specimens of Grade 35 Steel Under Torsion after Localized Laser Processing." The study examines changes in the physical and mechanical properties of structural steel under the influence of modern additive technologies. The results are of high practical value for mechanical engineering, allowing for the prediction of the service life of machine parts operating under complex loading conditions and the optimization of their hardening processes.
The Belarusian delegation's visit was not limited to the scientific forum. A key part of the trip included talks with Wu Yantao, Party Secretary of Qilu University of Technology, and Shu Minlei, Vice President of the Shandong Provincial Academy of Sciences.
Andrei Ivanovich Veremeychik also participated in a number of related events that outlined the development vector of international partnerships:
The 4th Conference on Innovative Development of Human Resources, where joint educational pathways and academic mobility for undergraduate and graduate students were discussed;
The Conference on International Cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Shandong Province Organizations was attended by Su Xuefeng, Deputy Head of the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Peng Wenbo, Deputy Head of the Jinan City Science and Technology Bureau; and representatives of leading regional universities: China University of Petroleum, Qingdao Agricultural University, and Shandong University of Science and Technology. The parties discussed the possibility of establishing joint research laboratories.
The delegation also attended specialized tours of a number of high-tech enterprises and companies in Jinan.
The intensive business program culminated in the signing of several strategic agreements between scientific and educational organizations in the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China. A key event for BrSTU was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Laser Technology of the Shandong Provincial Academy of Sciences and Brest State Technical University.
